What is DPF?
DPF (diesel particulate filter) treats your truck's exhaust by trapping particulate matter which is basically soot and ash. Diesel particulate filters have been a crucial part of a truck's emissions system. DPF's capture approximately 90% of diesel particles and soot preventing them from being released through the exhaust system.
Benefits of a clean DPF include:
Cleaning
The DPF must be cleaned every 150,000 to 300,000 miles to remove the built up ash. The filter should also be cleaned if a fuel injector or turbo problem causes contamination with engine oil or non-combusted diesel. This contamination cause unwanted back pressure. Cleaning methods include air blasting, de-ionized water and a vacuum-like system. This must be done very carefully to avoid any damage to the filter. The particulate matter that is removed must be handled with extreme caution to ensure there is no exposure to the very fine contaminants.
DPF and Preventative Maintenance
The DPF is yet another component that must be tracked and maintained on a heavy duty truck. Ensuring regular preventative maintenance is performed on the DPF will do wonders in ensuring the long life of the DPF. Replacing air filters and fuel filters regularly along with using the correct type of oil for the engine will help prevent any unnecessary wear and potential damage with the DPF.

Would not recommend. Mark the mechanic is rude and very unprofessional . They do not like people asking questions on prices. I asked him to breakdown the price so i could pass along the information and was hung up on and told to not call back. Customers have the right to know what they are paying for. The dispatcher is very nice and professional.Would not recommend. Mark the mechanic is rude and very unprofessional . They do not like people asking questions on prices. They plugged into my truck to diagnose it and came up with it needed a clutch fan solenoid. Part was changed out and was a waste of $300. I can’t be wasting time and money on the guessing games.I was NEVER informed about a possible fan clutch. He only told me the solenoid and I still have the paperwork that it was printed on. I would’ve changed the both of them cause I don’t have time to play around. They plugged into my truck to diagnose it and came up with it needed a clutch fan solenoid.
