Truck coolant leak issues can be very complicated. It can become a very expensive problem if you ignore a truck coolant leak for too long. If left unchecked it can ultimately lead to engine failure. Once a coolant leak starts rarely does it get better. No matter what radiator you have, whether heavy duty, basic or semi, your cooling system needs to stay free of leaks in order to operate well. A small leak can cause temperature increase, create an air pocket and lead to overheating.
There Are Primarily Three Places You Can Have Engine Coolant Leaks:
External Engine Coolant Leaks
External leaks are the easiest to find, most of the time you will just visually see them.
The source may be:
Internal Engine Coolant Leaks
An internal leak be noticeable, when the coolant level does not stay constant. Also, you find that you need to constantly refill the tank or your engine overheats.
The source of internal leaks could be the fault of:
Rad Cap Engine Coolant Leaks
If you have a leaky or weak radiator cap, you may have loss of coolant in the overflow tank. This could create an air lock in the rad as well.
Other Things Could Be:
This will also cause pressure loss and engine coolant leaks.

PERFECT PLACE TO GET SCAMMED. Nearly $500 for a leaky radiator hose, charged for 10 gallons of antifreeze when the truck was almost full of brand new antifreeze which I guess nobody bothered to save, 2 hours of labor when they changed the hose in 10 minutes and a serious attitude problem when we asked about the shady bill. The hose itself costs $35.00 at the local dealer....In the end we just wanted to pay our bill and be on our way but they refused to accept our credit card and insisted on cash payment, fearing a claim because of their shady services. Lost nearly 5 hours and had to get the local police involved so that they would accept a DEBIT card because our driver did not have enough cash on him. STAY AWAY.PERFECT PLACE TO GET SCAMMED. Positive: ProfessionalismPaul was friendly and professional and the mechanic that came out to jump me was great and very helpful. I got a jump start at the J which was literally rt across the street! The charge was $125 which I think is outrageous but what really got me is the tax that was added on! Paul you might want to consider a more reasonable price for jump starts, no real labor is done and it took 10 minutes!! Sometimes you need to give a little to get a lot more business! I’m an o/o we all need to help each other out! I am thankful for your help but I doubt I’ll give you more of my business because if you charge that much for a jump start rt across the street, I can imagine what you prices are for any kind of real labor. Which I could be more positive but being overcharged is one of my pet peeves. Btw TA charges $44 for a jump start in there parking lot which is literally the same distance or less.Paul was friendly and professional and the mechanic that came out to jump me was great and very helpful.
